Default quick tranny question

im pulling the tranny out this weekend and my question is, if i pull the driveshaft out, am i going to get tranny fluid all over my head? will the fluid actually come out of the hole where the driveshaft goes? or is there something stopping it from doing that?

thanks!

it will only if it is tilted down in that direction, but even then it wont be a lot maybe a cup thats it, its always good to drain it first.

yes drain it first not only will it make less of a mess its also lighter. Trust me if you are using jack stands its worth draining plus tranny fluid is cheap.

OK, I'm gonna piggy back on this thread. What's the best tranny fluid to use on a stock 95GT 5 speed?

I have always heard to use gear oil, but when i got my tremec rebuilt they told me to use regular tranny fluid.
