Hey, I've been having some cooling issues lately. On the Hwy, I'm fine at about 185*, but in traffic & local driving I'll hit 220*-230*. I figure thatthe fan clutch is shot, since I only seem to have a problem at low speeds. Anyway, I'm thinking of ditching the cluch fan altogether & just switching to a Flex fan (I just dropped a bundle on the motor & don't have the money for an electric fan right now). I know I need a reverse rotation fan but does anyone know what size fan I need (16,17,18 or 19 inch) & what size adapter? I'm using the stock fan shroud & stock radiator (I'll switch over to an aluminum next year). Thanks for the input, I appreciate any advise you can give

Interesting...I never thought of cooling the oil before. Even if the flex fan works out well, the oil cooler might be a good mod idea down the road. Thanks

Think Flex-A-Lite for the electric fan. They have the best one on the market with the least amount of amp draw from your charging system. I would also think about getting a Meziere electric water pump or Edelbrock Victor pump, depending on your budget. Also a quick note, when you replace the coolant/water mix, make sure you use distilled water (no junk in it) and never add water from a gas station! "Burp" the system, top off and you should be way cooler. If you have access to the thermostat area... pull it out and test to see if it's actually opening when it should be. You can boil water in an old pot on the stove and watch it open if it's working properly.
