I have a 1985 mercury capri with a 5.0 5spd
it started over heating and i replace the thermostat and it still over heated so i got a 3 core radiator with 2 12in electric fans removed the fan and shrouds and it still over heated .
so i took the thermostat out and it still over heated replace the water pump still over heated humm now i do a pressure test and i hear air leak in the carb so i take the heads off an find a blown head gasket and while looking i find a small crack in the head close to the intake valve, great im so relieved i found the problem , NOT lol i buy a reman head and the gasket set, now i inspected the other head having it off no leaks so i assume its ok and put it all togeather and take it for a ride, i hav a 160 stat in it too it over heats when, i take the rpms up to the 3 4k mark, i bring it back and releave the pressure and fill it again, aslo taking the stat out to loook and it was open, it was ,when i filled it the first time i let it idle and watched the stat open and could watch the flow in the radiator and it will idle for ever not even starting to over heat , but as soon as i rev the motor it pumps all the fluid out of the radiator and the motor is not hot at all untill it pumps all the fluid out
I hav take off the stat and while filling the radiator watch the fluid come out of the stat inlet to make sure the pump is pumping it the right way also, Im at wits end with this thing and please dont hate cause it is a mercury

any sujestions would be greatly appreciated

Well, if all of the fluid is leaving the radiator once the ar is hot, I would suspect one of two things:

1. You have a leak. Do you notice fluid anywhere? Any drips? Any white foamy crap in the oil?

2. You have air in the system. Even when the car is hot, the front end of the cooling system should not be dry. Add more coolant.

You may want to try lifting the front end and "burping" the system to see if you have air trapped in there...

Radiator is pressurizing from the motor somehow...someone
removed egr valve off the carburater face plate, could that possibly have something to do with it?

Sounds like another headgasket or cracked head or block with engine pressure getting into the cooling system. As long as the hoses from the egr block are connected properly it shouldn't be your problem.

I replaced both head gaskets and the 1 head where i could see it was leaking into the cly. ie rust on the valves from the blown head gasket, now where do I go from here, Im thinking i need to pressureize the cylinders untill i find the one that is pressurizing the radiator, its funny how it will idle all day and i can watch the water flow threw the radiator untill i rev it and thats when it starts to pressurize, was hoping that someone else has had this problem and could direct me to an easy fix lmao

Alum. or iron heads? Sounds like a cracked/warped head/head gasket. Sounds like you need to pull the heads again. Check them and the block for straightness, and get a set of new head gaskets and bolts. Be sure to torque in the correct sequece. Good luck.
