Default Difference Between the 5.0L H.0. and 5.0L

I'm looking at building a 5.0L engine for my `95 stang. I know the 5.0L H.O. is what comes in the car. The motor I build won't be no stock pony!!! What is the difference between the 5.0 H.O. and the plain 5.0?? I'm gonna be putting on different heads and intake manifolds and was wondering if I could get away with buy a cheap plain 5.0 short block. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

HO pistons are forged, Non HO are not. HO has a different cam. Depending on the year of the block, the NON HO may not have the bosses for the roller lifters that the HO has.

You're going to want a crank that is out of an 81 or newer, or if
you buy a brand new one, you'll want to specify a 50 ounce inbalance
unit. In short, your harmonic balancer, crank, and flywheel need to
be of the same specification, in terms of balance.

Just get a 5.0 HO block. Practically every Ford in the 80's had one. You won't have any problems finding one.

lol... your still trying to sell that kit?? Just curious, why are you selling it, and what is your asking price? Just stick with a ho block, maybe you can save some money. Have your stock block stroked if its in good shape.
