Default What are some things to check when cruise control doesn't work?

Ok, just wondering if you guys know any trouble areas I could check wiring or otherwise to see why my CC doesn't work. I know I probably wont be able to fix it if it has a big problem, but if its just some small wiring issue. Ive noticed a lot of the Foxes dont work, so maybe somebody knows the commonality of the CC. Thanks guys.

first thing to check is the fuse,if the speedo works because if it doesnt the cruise cant work.if these two check out you need to check the speed sensor at the tranny.

If none of those pan out, check to make sure that the cruise control controller
is holding vacuum.

Where is the sensor at the tranny? The fuse is still good.

the speed sensor is at the end of the speedo cable, between the cable and the tranny.check the plug first could be a wiring problem or could be a bad sensor.

check your lash on the cable, you'll need to refer to a manual to find the exact spec. Just like mean green mentioned, check your vacuum.

Don't forget to check the clutch safety switch as well. The cruise control passes thru there.
