Default oil pressure switch

my oil pressure gauge on my 1986 mustang is just kind of goes back and forth and it doesn't move when i get on it could this possible be the oil pressure switch? and if so where is the oil pressure switch located?

It could be. It's an easy and cheap try. The sender in threaded into the block above the oil filter.

as YLDPONY said its possible, its exactly what happend to my 1996 Bonneville SSEI, gauge kept on going nuts back and forth but not when u drive, itll die and freeze lol. It was exactly that a sending unit

Replace it and let is know if it fixes it!

If you need help finding the sender, I attached a picture. Yous won't have the braided stainless steel line running to it, that is for a mechanical oil pressure gauge I have. Nevertheless, it attaches to the same port as the electric sender did.
