Default Serpentine belt BYPASSING acc.

I have a question regarding my serpentine belt and bypassing some accessories. Well, at least at the track.

I am wanting to bypass my SMOG pump, A/C, and POWER STEERING. I saw this done on another Mustang at a car show that our club held last weekend.

BELT SIZE 42.5".

Will running this belt and bypassing the acc. That I mentioned be of any good for lower ets? I am curious. I currently have UNDERDRIVE pullies installed. All but the one on the ALT. And the guy has the same setup. He is the one who give me the beltsize with this setup.

I am curious. I am wanting to attend another DYNO day to see if there is any HP/TQ gains from doing so.

This arrangement will free up a bit of horsepower to your drivewheels.
I recommend that you install the smaller alternator pully that came with
your pully kit, it will make the alt spin faster. A smaller DRIVE pully slows
down the belt, and a smaller DRIVEN pully speeds up the driven accessory.
When the smog pump seized on my old 82 GT, I got a shorter belt which
also bypassed the power steering pump, as my power steering didn't work
anyway. It did retain the AC compressor however, but the AC didn't work
either. The 85 and newer accessory drive configuration is a little different
though.

Well, I would put the alt pulley on but I had a mishap with it. 2 weeks ago the pulley on the alt was lose. It was wiggling and it grind down the pulley on the side of the alt. Needless to say I had millions of metal shaving in the engine bay. ANd of course no more pulley.

You might try contacting the company that manufactured your pullies,
and explain to them what happened. Maybe they will send you a new
one, if not free, then maybe for the cost of the alt pully itself. Your
battery will appreciate it.
