Default What is the biggest tire size that will fit on my 89 LX rims?

hey sup? my question to you, what is the biggest tires i can put on my car? i have p225/60r 15's on there right now, i have 8 inch wide rims what can i put on them? i tried using that conversion chart, but i got confused, i don't care about the aspect ratio too much, i don't want the tires being too big but w/e not a biggie

Well , I have17" \ 8" wide Borbet Wheels on my ride..I have 275/40/zr17's on the back of mine. I have 245\40 zr17's on the front and the will scrape ever so slightly when turning really sharp..like all the way to the lock...So I think that is the max you could go...

Hope this helped..

i was going to say say no wider than 255s on an 8"rim. i have 265s on my 18x9s. i honestly think 275s are a bit too wide for an 8" wheel. but hey, thats just my opinion.

To be honest ..It has been so long since I checked I am not sure how wide my wheels are. I was sure they were 8" though. Anyway...I can verify that 275 is as wide as you can go without the tire sticking out past your quarters..And thats with the perfect offset..

Cheers

no more then a 255 and that pushing it. you may need to flip the quad shock on that. personally id stick with a 245r60 with that rim. good luck

its been awile since ive been on here

no my rims are after market am. racing 15x8's i want to get the biggest tires possible for the back, the front are pointless to have wide tires on, as i am a drag racer @ the current, if i go to road racing i will put my 225's back on the front if i go to a smaller tire, i am looking @ putting a 428 in my stang, an old interceptor engine, needs a new intake, new cam and new carb and it suposedly will push 500hp

sweet, that sounds nice. i'd go with 255s on those 8"wide wheels. no wider than that, even that is pushing it.
