You should also have a metal clutch cable quadrant put in , or put it in
yourself. If this clutch is "heavy", it will strip the "factory" plastic quadrant
in no time. You can buy a kit with the quadrant, a new cable, and if you want,
a firewall adjuster which will save you from going under the car to adjust the
cable. However, they don't need adjustment that often, (I have one on my
'84 that I got before they sold firewall adjusters). Heck, even with an OEM
stock clutch, you should have one of these things. The plastic assembly was
not one of Ford's "better ideas".

Definately put an adjustable clutch quadrant in and I would not recommend a King Cobra clutch unless you love working out your left calf muscle. I would go with a spec stage 1 or centerforce dual friction. Alot less pedal pressure and hooks the same if not better.
The FMS-M7560C302 (King Cobra) clutch kit is suppost to have a lighter pedal pressure than Ford Racings FMS-M7560A302, but have the same holding pressure. That's why I bought one for my 94 Cobra. I will have it installed in a couple of days and will post how it feels

I had one in my car and it hooked great but it will as stated above work your leg.
Crap! Don't tell me that!
My Cobra is my daily driver, I don't want a heavy pedal. My son has the A302 clutch and it's pretty heavy. I went with the C302 because it says it is 10% less pedal than the A302
From Ford Racing:
"M-7560-C302 1996-02 Mustang GT and 1996-98 Cobra
Kit consists of (1) M-7550-A302 clutch disc, (1) M-7563-C302 “King Cobra” pressure plate and (1) D9ZZ-7548-A throw-out bearing. The M-7563-C302 10.5' HD “King Cobra” clutch pressure plate has the same torque capacity and nodular iron pressure plate as M-7563-A302. It requires approximately 10% less pedal effort due to a new, stronger cover and revised internal geometry. M-7563-C302 is interchangeable with M-7563-A302."
Oh well I have it now. I'll give it a try.

Let us know how it turns out.
I figured I would go with the King Cobra Clutch when mine goes. Not sure when that will be.
*knock on wood* hope I didn't jix it????
Spec 1 clutches also chatter really bad when you take off. I'd get a McCleod instead.
I had a King Cobra. It worked and held great, but I think I hotspotted the flywheel by driving it too hard one day and ended up getting bad clutch chatter. Not the clutches fault though.

The King Cobra clutch is in! The pedal feel is exactly what I was expecting. It is in between the A302 clutch kit and stock. Alot less new clutch chatter then I was expecting too. Matter of fact there is barely any.
So far I like it! I'm going to give it a few miles to break in and then I'll see if I really like it. If it holds like the A302 kit, like it should, I feel I'm going to really like it! Especially for the price!

I have had the King Cobra clutch in my car for over two years now and about 30 trips down the drag strip. Pedal effort is the same as stock and no chatter what so ever. I also have a clutch quadrant an a new cable with a firewall adjuster. Only had to adjust it once so far, just for a fine tune.
