Sounds like you may have some forehead slapping and doh's ahead of you. With my tensioner I grinded off the piece that would fit into the alternator so I can turn it more. Check out my gallery to see what position I have mine in.
RUNS LIKE A CHAMP NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! problem is, im on my third alternator with the same LOUD skreetching sound. And it wont charge the battery. Could my electric fan be takin too much power away from the battery? its wired in with an add-a-fuse in the fuse box. ive only driven it about 5 miles so far. and its runnin at about 209degrees steadily. kinda hot, buti dont know what it is. car show is TONIGHT!!!! cant go with a squeekyass belt!! HELP, thanx guys
i was running the stock 302 firing order, when in reality (had i only checked my cam card) 351 wiring is correct. switched it around and it runs like a champ now!! who knew?! fixed the squeeking alternator also, by movin the tensioner to the next hole and runnin the 58inch belt! took it to the car show just now and i got tons of complements. Ill post the pix of the engine and car show soon!
