Default Will GT40 heads and 1.7 Roller rockers fit my 86' 302 ?

I have a stock 86gt and would like to know if I can use gt40 heads. I have heard that e7 heads will work. Also can i use 1.7 roller rockers.

The heads will work for sure but if you need to retian smog stuff, you'll have to get the heads drilled for the air pump line that bolts to the back of the heads and pumps air into the head during start-up, and the ONLY way to really be sure about P-V clearnace is to check it via the drop valve test or a clay test.

I have e7 heads and 1.7 roller rockers on a stock 86 shortblock. I would not think that the GT40 heads would be that much different than the stock e7. To be safe, check the P-V clearance.

If you stick with the stock cam you will be fine. Anything larger than that and you will run into problems.
