Bad gas mileage...any ideas? I bought a 1994 GT back in May and have been working on it ever since. It's got 104,000 miles on it. I've replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, flushed the coolant system, put a K&N air filter in, and changed the oil and filter using Mobil 1 synthetic. The only performance thing that is on this car is a BBK hi-flo h-pipe. It just has 2 hi-flo cats on it and then the exhaust is routed and exits right in front of the rear tires. The car only gets 160-170 miles to the tank! That's about 11 miles per gallon. From what I've read, the stock city mileage is 17mpg. Some people I've talked to have underdrive pulleys, gears and more performance mods and they still get better gas mileage than I do. Even when I drive I try not to stomp on it. Does anyone have any ideas as to why I could be getting such bad gas mileage? I would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks.
