how to set the timing to stock?

how do you exactly set the timing on 92 mustang 5.0 lx to stock? i'm guessing i need a timing light correct? i've never done it before.

you want to start the car and warm it to operating temperature. Once that is done shut the car off and take the spout out, (the little plug that was attached to the distributor that you asked about previous) then start the car back up. With your timing light hooked up properly to the number one cylinder plug wire turn on your timing light and see where the pointer is at on your balancer. Once you know where that is turn the distriduter tell the pointer is at 10 degrees then tighten your distributer back down and shut the car off. Replace the spout and you are done.

I believe stock timing is 10 BTDC. Here is a link to a thread that walks you through it. Go down a little bit and the poster has step by step instructions. I did my own timing based off instructions here and it was very easy. That means a lot because I make everything difficult.
