Same problem here ! Is RHD a requirement in Aus ? I've seen very few RHD Mustangs, and NO Fox body ones!
Quite a few of those Japanese market 95+ export versions make it to the UK...
Thanks for all the input !
The car must be RHD unless it is 30 years old or more hence I had to convert mine.

I see what you mean about OZ rules !
I just get in the other side and take it easy on left hand bends, and when overtaking! No problem with LHD cars here, although you get charged a bit extra on the insurance!
You cannot however, register a motorbike with a sidecar on the wrong side !
I've found a local place that does some interesting tail lights ! Not sure yet whether I like the "modern" look or not!
alan....that link is kinda funny. cut when you read it says "mustang suk". kinda sounds like mustangs sucks. lol

Yeah, I thought that at first too.
So the export spec '87 - '93 taillamps were the cheese grater style with
orange lensing for the directionals?
Nice ride Alan, You know, if you are good at working with bondo (auto body
filler-I'm sure there's a different name for it there), you can splice in new
orange - as long as your seams are in the painted portions of the lense.
Apply filler to hide the seams and paint. Easier said than done for sure,
but definitely possible.

got an 88 cobra gt with the cheese grater tail lights, took the reverse light wires out of the lenses (Clear) and sliced a pigtail into the turn signals, put a amber bulb into the new pigtail and stuck it in the backup lens hole and VIOLA red and amber turn signals on both sides.
Took the reverse wires and sliced them into a set of new backup lights.
I used truck backup lights and mounted them in the ground effects, got twice the light for backing up (I live in an area in BC that doesn't have street lights on every corner, lots of bush)
I used the sealed white lights and the grommet that they use to hold the light in place, works great and you don't have to change your tail lights and they are cheap(cheap being the operative word)
I don't think I have any "backup lights" ! I think they are used for the turn signals ! Woops I'd better finds out ! Could mean some work for the next MOT (Ministry of Transport) certificate ! I'd better check ! I never see the car from the back ! Everyone else does though !

Yup, on mine, the clear lenses, are used for the turn signals too! Likewise, on the front too, the inner lenses are used for the turn signals. I don't think I would get way with this if I tried to register the car now. I believe the turn signals now have to be on the outer side ! No problem. It's already been registered here ten years! It looks like I have quite a few choices for lighting.

After reading through this, I have decided I want amber turn signals on my '90 GT as well!
As for Australia and the U.K., I wish like hell they would sell some of those Fords over here.
Turbo Diesel Focus?!?!
5.4L Falcon and Fairlane?!?!?
Sport Ka?!?!
We are so missing out in the States!
I came close, a number of years ago, to sealing the deal on the importation of a 1972 Falcon XB from AUS. That woulda been cool. Had Mad Max in mind..........
