Check in the trunk, probably on the driver's side. It should be a round red push button.

Have you checked the fuel pump relay? Did anything recently change?

There isn't a fuel cutoff switch for a carb motor. The fuel pump is on the timing cover, right? Maybe it just needs to be replaced as they do go bad over time.

Weird, means someone swapped it in there then. Maybe they just bypassed the switch? or are you meaning CFI?

Unhappy 84-5.0 sTANG

The red & black wires go from the fuel pump mounted to rear passenger side inside frame to the top of gas tank turns into grey plug into tank.where does the power come from ? and why do wires go into tank if pump is outside tank? i put power to pump it works ok.

84 cars had CFI with the auto. The fuel pump is in the tank, tank needs to be removed to replace it.

Default Still troubled 84-5.0

Found small pump in tank, put voltage to it and it pumps ok,there is 2 metal tubes coming out of tank, the smaller one comes from pump in tank and bypasses big pump and goes towards motor the bigger one goes to larger pump on rear frame and than to filter than to throttle body, the 2 wires black and pink go from big pump to little pump, they just make a circle around back of tank,i can't find how it gets fed voltage, its a real puzzle,i also think i found the shutoff switch in trunk left side behind metal piece above wheelwell, button is down? 2 wires going to it but they are red and red/blk,both wires hot but cant still not find power source to pumps.

How about that secondary pump, is it working? This could be because of the
fuel pump relay too.
