Default serpentine belt routing advice for 1993 mustang 302

Hang gang, new member here. Howdy.

Just got a 93 Mustang with a 89 5.0L a couple of days ago. It had been sitting a few years. I got it her running, But I noticed the former owner bypassed the smog pump and in doing so, the belt rubs against itself at the tensioner (see pics). Anyone have advice as to how I get a more usable belt routing?

Also, AC compressor is connected via belt, but the AC is bad so it doesn't need to be.

The belt length in that diagram are for a car with underdrive pulleys if you read the text in the right hand column.

Bump, to say that I am running into the same problem as the original poster. I have an 84 5/8" and an 84 1/4" belt (that's all the parts store in my town had and I'm getting ready to take the 5.0 to where I am stationed). Should one of these still fit? I guess the only way to know for sure is to take off the existing belt and run it and just hope for the best. Just thought I'd ask.. thanks in advance.

Worst case if you cant get the EXACT desired location...get a belt 1/4-1/2" smaller(so you cannot get it on),pull your tensioner and index it counterclockwise by drilling a dimple for the tensioner locking nipple. Allows you to run a shorter belt with no other issues.

The 84 1/4" belt went on fine with no issues at all.
