Default Should I use copper gasket maker on my header gaskets?

I am installing my BBK long tubes, and was wondering if I should use copper gasket maker on my header gaskets?

I believe he's talking about copper gasket spray, applied TO the gaskets...

I did, and they never leaked, so I guess it didn't hurt.

I highly recommend using the spray copper on asbestos header gaskets, but the solid copper gaskets are superior in every way.

Also remember to use a torque wrench to evenly tighten the bolts. Most leaks are caused by a warped flange caused by uneven torque on the fasteners and then over tightening to compensate causing the warping and then an uneven sealing surface.

Another thing to consider is blue loctite on the fasteners. The continuous heat and cooling causes the bolts to loosen...sometimes.

Found a set of aircraft fasteners on Ebay for mine. Twelve point and plated so zero rust.

i never had any luck with using header gaskets. I run a thin layer of silicon on mine.... its ghetto and makes for more cleanup if i ever have to take em off for some reason, but i havent had any problems yet
