Default Calling 5.0 Motor Heads....Need info on removing all unneed parts!...LOOK

I have a 1990 5.0 GT.

I want to find out any problems and get answers before I do it.....But It will be done. I am building everything All Motor and reliable BUT want to remove any unneed parts.

Like:
A/C...Completely
Smog Equipment...Completely
O2 Sensors...Completely..If can...

My questions are only pertaining to the Smog Equipment and O2 sensors.

If I remove all of the Smog Equipment and plug all Vacuum lines / exhaust return lines / and return holes in Heads......Will this cause a check engine light??.......And if so how do I get rid of it...New ECU?

Can I remove the O2 sensors at all???

Do off Road H pipes have holes for O2 sensors??....If not can I make a hole and install them??

And I know removing the O2 sensors will cause a check engine light.....But How can I get rid of that??

And last......Like newer Cars will my car run lean if the Check Engine Light is on???

After This is Figured Out....Future Plans and Parts Are:

Intake Manifold
70mm Throttle Body
Headers...Shortie and long tube depend on these answers
H Pipe......Again Depend on answers
Cat-Back Exhaust
Camshaft
Heads
Fuel Injectors
Fuel PRessure Regulator
Fuel Pump
MSD Ignition
Maximum Motorsprts Full Grip Package....Coilovers/control arms/etc....Plus Roll Cage
Ford Racing Cobra Brake Kit...all wheel disc 5 lug
Racing Seats + Harness...Removal of rear seats.

So I have my work cut out for me...

First off, you need your o2 sensors regardless if it's EFI. Do not remove them. The check engine light you would get would indicate a hugely rich condition based on the computers default to richen the crap out of it rather than lean it out. This would hurt your motor if you punched it when lean. That's why supercharged cars use A/F ratio gauges so they dont give it any more gas when it's running lean , causing a possible grenade. A check engine light can come on for various reasons and will not necessarily make it jump into Lean mode.

Off road H pipes and X pipes do come with o2 sensor holes.

Currently, I have no smog pump, cat's (off road H), EGR valve plugged in (vacuum removed, electrical connection unplugged), and the back of the heads are plugged. The car runs great.

Must keep the 02 sensors!!!

My recomendations for your future mods would be
- AFR 165 or 185 heads
-bbk or similar 65mm throttle body (a 65 will keep more torque then a 70)
-long tube headers and a off road h or x pipe (i would go x if i had to do it again..) (i also used bbk ceramic coated headers great finish and nice gains too).
-a edelbrock upper and lower intake is nice or a trickflow street heat imo
-no smaller then a 190 fuel pump...

thats just some recomendations hope that helps you... also what kind of trans do you have? if its an automatic good longtube header would be expensive however MAC does make them for a aod but i wouldnt use mac headers on my car...

also you didnt say anything about building up your rear end...
I would recomend a new posi unit if you don't already have one and 28 or 31 spline axels along with a strengthened rear end cover AND DEFFINETLY BATTLE BOXES (once you tear your stock torque boxes the car will never be the same again...)

Thanks for all the info...you answered all my questions......X Pipe and Long tubes it is....But I will be switching out my AOD for a T56 Hopefully.

Also for my rearend I'm in the process of rebuilding it right now.....I had 4.10's installed and had problems...Pitted bearings and so on. I'm in the process of rebuilding the entire rearend with the Richmond Kit this week......Also Have the Trick Flow Rear Girdle helping strengthen the rearend.

I will get the battle boxes and 31 spline axles once the car is down for the install of all the other mods. I'm just reaserching now so I don't miss anything. By the 1st of next year....It will be finished.
