Hey guys ive been thinking about cat-back exhaust lately, because mine has a few holes in the pipes passed the mufflers and Id like to fix that. Anyway, I was thinking that I really dont need to worry about noise, because i plan to keep my stock gears at least until they explode or something. What systems do you think would be annoying for a trip at around 1750 RPM? I have no experience with any aftermarket exhaust, but I dont want it to be irritating when Im driving 70 or so. Any info is appreciated.
By the way, I know that I want a Stainless steel system, and eventually would like to do longtube headers (probably BBK), but Im rethinking this currently too, thanks

I run Bassani w/ an o/r x-pipe and bbk shorties. It's a nice growl at low rpms and near window shattering at WOT (sounds like big block muscle). The best part is no drone anywhere in the rpm range. The worst part was cost but well worth it.
I think I have narrowed it down between Magnaflow and bassani (probably quiet thunder). Anyone know any cons of any of these two systems?
The only exhaust system you should think of running is The Flowmaster American Thunder System w/ 2 chamber mufflers, just make sure you buy the stainless steel tips, flows were made for Stangs, "Don't mess with the Breed"
first of all I refuse to buy an aluminized system, because its just not worth the money. Second of all, I HATE the way Flowmasters sound. I dont need to have same exhaust system as everyone else, I like to be a little different.

They make choices for a reason. People have different tastes and just becasue you like it doesn't mean evryone will. If double stack wings and neon underglows where what every put on their stangs would you?
Flowmaster are to mustangs like glasspacks are to farm trucks. An affordable, decent exhaust but by no means the best.

Again like I said, you should never mess with the breed!!!
One thing about the magnaflows. Fellow AFMer 88 5ohh and I put longtubes an o/r x and magnaflows (just mufflers not an entire catback) with dumps on his 88 speed density LX and under normal driving conditions it is quieter than the stock exhaust IMO but really comes to life when you get on it. Where as my bassani is kinda loud all the time, but good loud. You may want to PM him as he can relate first hand experience of the magnaflow to you.
If your looking for more volume and you choose magnaflow you may want to consider magnapacks (I've only heard them on a 99+ 2V however and it is sweet). The magnaflows are nice when coming home late and you don't have to wake the neighbourhood and it also can help control unwanted attention from the fuzz.
I still vote for bassani. My cost was $700 for the catback here in Canada but I've never for a second regreted spending that much since the first time I heard it. Good luck in your decision.
How about you just "dont mess with this thread" anymore. Honestly, if you dont have anymore input, just leave it alone thank you.
Sounds like a bit of sarcasam to me, since your not going with Flowmasters you might as well just get some Import Mufflers for your car, I bet those will sound good and you can be different!
Why do you care what exhaust i want on my car? Is there a problem with not wanting constant drone at all RPM's? Is there a problem with not wanting to replace a bare aluminum system every 3 years? You can run whatever you want on your car, but on my car I want the best, and flowmaster is not the best. They quite simply do not stack up. People buy them because of the name. I dont have a grudge with Flowmaster, I just dont like their products that much. Flowmaster is a mediocre system at best, and I refuse to waste my time when I can buy a system from borla, bassani, or magnaflow that will last a lifetime. Im glad to hear that you were sharp enough to catch that sarcasm, I was laying it on pretty thick. You're very perceptive...
