My passenger side door is not working. I lock the doors with the lock switch but when I close it the door opens and I have to use the key to lock the passenger door. I already bought a new DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR.
Did you test the door lock actuator that it spins when put a 12v source to it or hooked up door panel switch to try it out ? It should spin freely.
If you can lock it with the key , your door lock actuator motor must not be doing it's job.
The door lock motors need both door panel connections to be connected to complete the circuit, so I would think a bad door lock switch could also cause this.
so did you say that when you hit the lock button it DOES lock but then pops out of the lock position when you close the door? If so, I would imagine you have something not right in the actual hardware of the lock and latch where it meets the striker.
