I'm not to sure about the battery exploding, but I used that Summit Kit in my 93 Cobra back when I still had it, I should tell you it's a pain in the ass to install and I had a real problem mounting it, I had to rig up some little hooks to use one the J bolts, try using an Optima Battery, especially since you have a sound system and if you ever run at the track make sure you get a cutoff switch, hard to find an inconspicuos place to mount it though.
I don't know if the kit comes with a vent tube (phone summit and ask them) but you must vent the box to the atmosphere. Battery fumes can be deadly. And weld those subframes in as soon as you can!
welli already ordered it so yup...whats easier running it throught the carpet or underneath? does it come with brackets to hold it down for underneath? how much of a difference is it gonna be if i weld the subframes on

I ran mine underneath the car last time, this time I'm going to run it underneath the carpet, it got really close to the h-pipe and I was scared if it moved or it might melt the insulation, I'm to sure of how I am going to route it but I'm sure it'll work out better than underneath, run your ground to the shock bolt on the passenger side, and for the subframes they are useless bolted on, in order for them to do their job they need to be welded.
what exactly do they do? the subframe connectors that is...what am i going to notice? will it be when i turn or what

They stiffen the chassis up big time. Your rear can flex with torque and your front can flex in turns. It spreads the load out and the whole car has a much more "connected" feeling. It's truely unique.
well the ones i bought were from bbk and they dont have that crossmemeber that bolt in to the front seat bolts. My firend that works at a mustang shop here in phoenix said there cheap peices of **** and tot ake them, back but i already drilled the holes for them he said i wasted 90 bux on them...there powder coated butt hats it and he said i should buy ones from his shop for the same price thats better ican take pics if anyone wants to see them and tell me what they think...there on the summit racing site..heres the link..

You cannot run at the track with an unsealed unvented battery box in a hatchback, even with an optima. If you do then somebody is laxed on the teck inspection. Summit has a nice aluminum box for about $100, and moroso makes a blue composite box too, both sealed and vented.
