Speedometer reads 115 @ 65 mph w/ 3.55 gears ? How to install a speedo gear?
i just bought my stang today and i was driving home goin about 65, but the speedo said like 115, i have 3.55 gears and i was wondering how hard it is to correct the speedo and what i need to do. thanks
you mean like a power programmer? It depends on what year of Stang you have. I dont think make them for the 5.0 but i could be wrong. Ive never heard of one for a Fox Body

You just remove the speedometer gear from the end of the speedometer cable. You just unbolt the retaining bolt holding it into the side of the transmission. Remove the C clip that holds speedometer gear end remove the gear. Pop on the new one and put the clip back on. Put it back in the transmission and put the bolt back in.
As long as it is correct for the year of Mustang you drive it will be fine. Just dont put a 140 mph gauge from a 90-93 in a pre 1990 car. If you have a pre 1990, find an 140 mph gauge from an 89 that is the only one that will work for you. Good Luck
