Default Opinions on this Trickflow parts rebuild

OK ya'll, it's been a while since I have been here. Anmyways. Lost the rear main seal and thought hey, what a great time to do the complete rebuild. I am going with a TFS engine kit, TFS Forged Pistons, twisted wedge heads, Track Heat intake, cam, TFS shorties and my flows are gone so I am putting on a Flow American Thunder cat back. No big deal right? Well, I wanna hear from the nuts and bolts guys, what can I look out for as far as problems?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and yes, I have done this before. But it was on a Chevy......TWICE!!!

Cool

Last time I did mine, i got a piece of plywood and layed it out like the engine, marked off areas for the cylinders and as I removed parts I put em on the board where they came from including bolts---really made reassembly a LOT easier.

take care replacing yer lower intake, make sure it seals

assembly lube

Im doin mine again in april---ya gotta love it

Thanks Ken. I can'e belive you are the only one giving feed back on this. I hope to get about 350 hp from the setup, and with the lower end being built, the 150 shot of nos I just got shouldput me near 500. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion, my garage is ready and so am I. Started tearing it down, gonna start the re-build this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

Sounds like a lot of work and that's cool that you have the ability to have that much down time. Those parts will make very nice horsepower.

Are you sure trickflow makes headers ?

Which camshaft were you going with ? Stage 1 or 2? In your rebuild probably want to upgrade the MAF sensor as trickflow recommends that on their site.

With that much power, an ignition system could boost your power even more, such as using an MSD ignition and ignition coil.

You may want to consider stroking the motor to get even more HP from it while you are going to have everything out, but that requires more $$$$.

Sorry, they are BBK shorties. I only have a couple hundred bucks left from my wifes budget. I'll get to the ignition later but strokin it is out of the question. I'll probably need the cash for the stuff I forgot when ordering all the parts. I already know I have to get cam bearings and a few gaskets recomended by TFS. A question I did have is this. I live in an emmisions state and everything is emmisions legal, but, can I eliminate the smog pump??

I Dont think you can delete the smog pump until after the test-in California they check that all the smog stuff listed on the manufacturers decal is in place and operating , you can always talk to your smog tester though.
