i finally got my car back! a 342 stroker with AFR 185 heads, flat top pistons, ford e-cam, and 4 custom chips done by Horsepower by Hermann (one of, if not the best on the east coast) and so forth. yes i know the cam is not good for the setup, it was supposed to be an x-cam, but ive heard that wont pass emmissions if anyone knows if thats right or not, let me know ...
ANYWAYS
The tag on my car says that I have 3.08 rear gears based on the code on that sticker. I just got a tremec tko500, and the speedometer is off. Well, i looked into it, and got the yellow 18 tooth speedo gear from tremec, but it is still off. Give or take a little, my speedo said 42, and my friend in front of me said we were really doing about 46. its better then before when it said 30 and i was really doing 35 lol. Any suggestions as to what I should do to fix this? i would assume a little bit smaller gear (less teeth or something) would even it out, but i dont know. please help me, i really want my speedo and mileage to be right.
another example is that school is 12.5 miles away, but today when i drove it was closer to 12...
HELP MEEEEEEE

Eat Rice, Dont Drive It
Raise the rear end. Have someone count the number of driveshaft rotations while you turn the tires. Turn the tire 10 times and divide the number of driveshaft turns by 10 and you have your rear end gear ratio.
