Default 5spd ecu in aod car

I am running an 88 gt 5spd computer in my AOD car. It runs good but will not idle in gear. It idles decent in park or neutral and drives great and runs hard. I have read that you CAN use the manual computer in an auto car (supposedly with better timimg curves formore performance) but not the other way, which is why I bought this computer . Is this just for stock applications? I am running an crower 15511 cam and 1.7 rockers. This cam seems to be the favorite performance cam for Speed density cars. Im at my wits end trying to get it done. I dont want to convert to mass air if I dont have to and I have seen plenty of posts supporting my combo working fine with SD but maybe they are 5 speed cars. I have set the curb idle and have the tps set to .98 vdc and put the stock IAC on (cleaned it out first). It idles decent in park or neutral. it wanders a little between 900-1000 but not to bad. As soon as you drop it in gear or come to a stop at a trafficlight it will die. I just had the trans done up with a performance rebuild. It is basically the same mods as a AODominator JR. It only has a 2300 stall though. It acted the same way before but with the explorer IAC it did not idle as good in park or neutral. Any ideas are appreciated.

I'm using an AOD computer in my car that's a manual converted (A9P computer). I think you're dying because of the 5 speed computer when you need an auto. Autozone sells computers for manual and auto. You might want to check give on a try just see if that's the problem.
