Default Will heads from a 66' 289 fit a 302 motor ?

Hello to all, I am new to this forum and building engines, so bear with me! I currently have a 289 block from 1966, the block is cracked so I am going to buy an already built 306. My question is...will the 289 heads from 1966 work on the 1994 306? I want to do this because the heads have already been gone through (porting, springs, rollers). Please help!

Yes they will bolt right up. I am not sure about the headers though, might be small ports or slightly different position. But 351 heads will also work on the 302 with different head studs.

The only thing you'll really need to worry about is the center water cross over passage is different between pre-'87 heads and post-'87 heads. Depending on what intake manifold you go with, you might run into sealing problems.

Is there a specific intake manifold you know of that will prevent those sealing problems? Thanks for your responses!
