Coolant temp sensor gets power, but signal wire reports no voltage?
I finally managed to get my computer to output the codes and it gave me an error code for the engine coolant temperature sensor being out of range (engine off). I checked the Green/yellow wire and it receives power. The sensor does not have any voltage from the black/white wire, warmed up or cold, off or running.
Ok, I put on a new sensor and the car seemed to run like crap at first and seems to be running ok. Should I reset the computer so it can relearn from scratch ?
ghost; you dont have to reset the computor, all should be fine once you cut it down and she cools off once you restart when its cold and the coolant warms the comp will get its signal from the sensor and acknowledge.
That sensor is the reason you want to have your engine fully warmed up
when you do the Engine Running test.
