Default Guys with 4.10 aod in here please HELP....

I just recently had my 4.10s put in and they feel unbelievable but the trans is a little weird sometimes?
when i'm decelerating on the brake the car doesnt really downshift that well and the motor kind of bogs a little before it down shifts? (by bog i mean drops down to like 5-600 rpm)?

is there anything i need to check? or what should i do?

does it do it in overdrive or drive?? my car always does it in overdrive so i never drive it in overdrive unless im on the freeway... you egr *might* be going bad also...i think its juss because the tranny is worn out and doesnt weanna down shift..mine does the same unless im in drive...get it rebuilt and it should be fine...if ur gonna get it rebuilt have ashift kit installed a 2800 or 3200 stall converter put in...will make a huge a difference!

my trans is pretty solid or atleast i thought it was... i already have a shift kit and when the guy installed it for me he said everything looked in superb condition my car has only 89k on it and it hasnt really taken a beaten that whole 89k...

i don' think it would have anything to do with the egr cuz it was perfectly fine b4 the gear install...

My 89 hatchback came stock with the 3.27 gears and i was considering either 3.73's or 4.10's. Being that you have the same AOD tranny and we both have shift kits, i was curious as to what your opinion is on the setup? Besides the issues that you are having obviously.
How does the car feel between 70 and 80 on the highway? That is basically what i'm worried about is the highway driving. Also, does it break traction alot easier now?

Thanks for the info,
Patrick

i'm in love with the gears now.... i don't have as much traction as before.... spins a little bit then hooks 2nd gear gives a nice healthy chirp now be4 my 1-2 shift was at around 55 mph so that was practically imposible now it shifts at about 30....

pull solidly all the way up... it lowered my top speed though a lot... i now top out at 130 but i get there 1,000 times faster....

if i were you i would go with the 4.10s i adjusted my line pressure for the trans (at the tb) and i no longer have the down shift problem...

at 70-80 on the highway i rev around 3k now but power is on tap... gas milage hasnt decreased to much...
