Default Are the Explorer & Cobra upper and lower intakes interchangeable?

i currently have an explorer lower intake sitting at work that my friend gave me and i would put a cobra upper or the like on top. does the explorer upper/lower bolt right in with virtually no modifications? the only difference that i can tell is that the explorer lower does not have the tap into the coolant passage for the rear coolant hose going to the throttle body spacer. also i read in another post that the explorer throttle body will go in easily with slight modification. what needs to be done? i have compared them and i know that i will have to get the bigger throttle body spacer, and that the throttle linkage is slightly smaller and different. what do i need to do to the throttle cable or anything else. btw if i put on the throttle body it will be on the stock manifold first.
thanks!

The cobra and explorer intakes bolt right up. That wil work.

I am using an explorer throttle body. I had to grind off the bottom portion on both the stock throttle body and the explorer one. I then pulled out the bar that holds the butterfly in place and turns the throttle position sensor. Had to be careful with the spring on the bottom. After I installed the old linkage on the new throttle body, I used a Dime(coin) and JB weld to secure the bar with the linkage. Sounds kinda ghetto but it works great.

thanks ghost dog. so i just have to use the throttle cable ball stud off the original tb and transfer it to the explorer tb? thats kind of what i was thinking id have to do. did you just make another hose for the iac, because i noticed on the explorer one that the metal hose ending was facing the other way.
what about using the explorer upper? will that work as well and have the same hook ups for the pcv and other vaccuum run things? thanks again!

Some of those Explorer/GT40 lower intakes need to be drilled and tapped for an ACT sensor.

Just grab the hose fitting and turn it the right direction - it's just pressed in and not too tight to turn.
