Can i still do a self test on my 89 lx if i have a chip added and a tune on it , i spent a pretty good penny on the tune and i really dont want to mess it up , the engine light came on but went out after starting, it hasnt come back on but i would like to know if i can still self test it.
Also i put a bump steer kit on and got just a little toe in out of it till i can get it to the alignment shop drives good and straight, my question is , Does the threaded part the tie rod end screws on to turn to help adjust or will it unthread the inner tie rod, i turned it maybe three turns and then read a post saying dont turn it , im assuming its made to turn from the knuckle at the pivot point for the alignment, the steering is good and straight like i said but doesnt feel as tight in the wheel, any advise would be appreciated.

Yes, you can still do the self test. The computer can't write anything to what's in the J3 port.

You're fine turning the tie rod, it won't unscrew. Under the boot it goes to a ball in cup joint and then the thread on the other side. It will turn in the ball in cup joint.
