Ok I'm going to be buying a Mass Airflow Senor, Throttle Body, and an upper and lower intake manifold.
My question is... Should I get a 70, 75, or 80mm throttle body? And also... what lb injectors would be good for me? I know I should match up the injectors with what the MAF specifies. Whats the different between 19lb 24lb and so on injectors? Do the 24lb's cause a bigger decrease in fuel efficiency? Basically I just need to know how big of a throttle body to get and what lb injectors would be good for a basically stock car. I plan on getting heads and a cam this summer... Will a cobra maf, throttle body, and intake manifold get in the way of me installing newer heads??
My 95gt is stock for the most part with a BBK CAI, and flowmasters... After this I'm going to get some higher flowing cats and better headers, under drive pulleys... THEN its time to get into the more serious mods later on....
No adapters are needed. It's a bolt on. You will need the tools to remove the fuel lines though. Small plastic circle tools that slip over and you push to release the spring load. It can be a major pain if they havent been, but they will loosen up.
You will need a new throttle body gasket that goes between the intake and throttle body. I haven't installed a BBK intake before but you may need to remove the distributor.
I have a C&L 73mm MAF, 24lb injectors, and a 70mm TB along with 255lph fuel pump and regulator on a basically stock 5.0 and it is running like a raped ape right now. My name is on the waiting list for the BBK intake so I am curious to see how much that helps. But, man, did I notice and improvement with the other mods though. No problems at all. Just my .02 because when it comes down to it, its your money. I went with the larger stuff because just like you I plan to add heads and cam further down the road and did not want anything I bought now to be hampering me later.
