87 stang and the fuel gauge isn't reading right. The gauge will read empty and the fuel light will be on but i'll only have used about half a tank. Last time i filled up and it only took 7 gallons. I know there's a 15 gallon tank in there. Could this be the sender unit? I need help, i don't want to have to set the trip and calculate milage. anyone else with this problem?

could be,but you also have a module that plugs into the back of the dash for the gauge.
