its really easy i just did that on my 93. you lift the car and where the speedo cable goes into the
trans, thats where the gear is. the cable is held in with an 11 mm bolt. remove that and pull out the cable, and simply remove the retaining clip and the gear slides right off . put the new one on and re install the clip and put the cable back in the
trans. easy takes like five minutes if that once the car is up in the air. i dont know if you can read this i cant see anything on my screen, the writing just changed to the same color as the background and i can only see what i am typing in this screen.
