Hey guys I just bought my first mustang the other day, its a 95 5.0 Im having a few problems with it so if ya can help plz do im kind of weak in the car area so the simpler the better if u can make it easy for me.. Anyways ive noticed that when i try to maintain a certain speed my car seems to jackrabbit back and forth until i accelerate again so its like i constantly have to be slowing up or speeding down otherwise its just to annoying to drive the same speed and feel the jerkiness.. Also when im driving sometimes when i shift i hear this weird noise sounds like a .. idk winding noise not really a grinding idk how to explain it really weird, i had a friend look at it and he said im gonna need a new clutch in a month or 2 and i was wondering if the jerkiness and the weird noise when i shift is from the clutch or if its something else... Someone else told me that the jerkiness could be from some throttle relay or something but he wasnt positive? any input would be great.. thanks!
Well i took it a ford dealer today and he said i definitely need a new clutch or else the one i have is gonna let me down soon, he also said that my engine might need a tuneup cause my engine is miss firing or something? he said thats probably whats causing the bucking my car is doing... any input? anyone??? please help... also could anyone suggest a good clutch for it?
tell the dealership their full of crap first off, the tune up wouldn't be a bad idea, clean the throttle body, change plugs wires cap and rotor, pcv valve, is it while it's coming out of neutral and into the accual gear u hear the noise? and if so is it a woooooo type of noise kinda like thoes spinning whistles we all used to play with while we are kids? if so it sounds like your scyncros, their in the transmission, could be caused to the clutch cable being streched, but i doubt that would be due to a blown clutch,
also if you could, please run out to your car and check on where on the cap there is the number one plug wire, number one is passenger side closest to the radiator, here is a picture just tell me which position on the cap it is in relation to the 2 clips

no apparently the noise is normal i had no clue... im not used to a mustang... however when i start to rail on my car and drive it hard.. i notice when the RPMS get really high i hear likea noise under the hood sounds like when my cvboot had rocks in it and it was grinding its almost exact same noise but the i checked the boots and there fine ... someone said it could be the valves rattling because im running cheap gas or something? ill check the firing order tomorrow to late right now
I went through this noise issue, it sounds like a throw-out bearing. Other things that can affect the smoothness is fuel pump pressure or lack thereof and fuel filter. He's right about cleaning the MAS, also the idle air control valve.

that noise you are hearing is prob detonation, sounds like a can of marbles being shaken, first check you timming follow these dirrections Checking, Setting and Bumping up your Mustang's Timing rember to unplug hte sput connector before timming it then plug it back in once yor done, and give it a full tune up, cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs, and make sure all the plug wires are on the right spark plug
