my '88 lx 5.0 vert's speedometer gear just disintegrated (auto w/ 2.73). I can't seem to find anywhere that offers that same speedo gear to replace it. I have heard several responses ranging from it not being made anymore to it is on backorder. All I wanna know is what part I need and where I can get it. If it isn't manufactured anymore, then is there a different part that works? Please help!!!

dude;i get mine from the ford dealership MCcarville Ford($7) on Long Isand 631-588-1800 they will ship it to you or you can just go to thier website and order it online.

I looked at the 50 resto site and they dont seem to offer any for 2.73? am I missing something? Thanks!

50resto.com sells them. They are 19th tooth for $7.95

'88 w/ 2.73 calls for a 15T gear. No such animal. 16T will get you close. Part number D0AZ-17271-A.

All this trouble for a speedo gear, sounds like a good excuse to spend of few more dollars and get a lower set of gears.

I love it when upgradeable parts break.
