Default air vents for ac on 85 gt

I HAVE AN 85 GT THE DASH IS APART I CANT GET MY VENTS TO OPEN TO BLOW AIR AT MYSELF THE FLOOR VENT WORKS AND THE DEFROSTRE VENT WORKS WHEN IT IS SUPPOSE TO BLOW AT ME AND WHEN I SWITCH TO DEFROST IS THERE A WAY I CAN MANUALLY CORRECT THIS THE VACUUM LINES ARE ALL APART IN THE ENGINE AND I DO HAVE THE DASH BOARD APART ..ALSO I HAVE ALOT OF WHITE SMOKE I AM THINKING I NEED TO REBUILD ENGINE ANY IDEAS?
