Update on my Code 34, need a little advice Ok, so most of you remember my pesky code 34 and my occasional backfire. I replaced my ACT sensor and as soon as I pulled the battery for awhile and erased my KAM it got rid of my surging/dyeing upon starting. My 94 has also since dissapeared for no apparent reason. The car is running really good with the exception of a stumble upon first throttling after morning start, and my (now VERY rare) backfire, which seems to occur only upon upshift and slightly heavy throttle with the engine slightly bogged down (ie. 1500-2000RPMs).
Ok, so here is the new news... I tested my VREF (orange wire) at the EVP harness and got 5.14v when grounded to the car, but only 3.83 when grounded using the signal return wire. My question is should I check the ground at the EEC harness, or should I just split off a ground and see what happens? I am going to run a few more tests and try some stuff, but I wanted to post this mainly so anyone else with a code 34 (assuming I get mine fixed) will know a few things to check. It seems that many a 5.0L is sending this code. Ill update ASAP.
