Default 3g 130amp alt install

Now that I delelted the smog pump and A/C and installed the relocation kit for the p/s (which is called an a/c eliminator ) and have also installed a set of Mac underdrive pulley's, I can't seem to locate a belt of the correct lenght. I have tried many different suppliers with no luck.
With the underdrives also came a no charging situation at idle, no biggie since I do not have a stereo in the car, but I am considering a electric fan. So I am going to go with the 3g alternator install. Question is, does anyone make the electrical connections seperatley without buying the alternator too? Also can anyone hook me up with a good link to a very descriptive and detailed process of the install. Thank's. I looked up the install on here and although it is well written I am looking for a little more detail. Thanks Frank

I just went thru this same thing last week....Here is some directions...

130 Amp Alternator Install

Disconnect the battery positive cable.

Peel back the electrical tape on the power output plug, and cut the three wires (two black/orange and one yellow) 1/2" to 1" from the plug. The new 3G alternator (right) has slightly different electrical connections than the stock 2G unit. The power plug we cut in step 11 is no longer
needed. The stock regulator plug will connect right up to the 3G socket .. We'll attach ring terminals to the two black with orange stripe wires from the cut power plug will attach to the battery terminal . The yellow wire (third small one)from the cut power plug will connect to the stator terminal ...(Its the small cone wire clip above the others on the side)

Using wire strippers, remove about 1/4" insulation on the ends of the three wires. Crimp and/or solder the ring terminals to the two black/orange stripe wires. Use a butt end connector on the smaller wire..

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

In addition to the above wiring, the factory wiring from the stud on the back of the alternator is questionable in is capability to supply the additional amps for a long period.

A simple insurance is to run a separate 4 gauge cable/wire from the stud on the back of the alternator to the positive on the battery .

If your battery is located in the trunk. Run the new 4 gauge cable/wire to where the positive cable from your battery connects to the solenoid.

DO NOT reconnect the original black/orange wire(s) to the 3G alternator.

Run a 4AWG cable from the alternator's stud to the starter relay and fuse it (at least 125A).

Thank's for the quick reply! I will have to save this info when it is time to install the alternator. The handy tips are also appreciated.
