Welcome Aboard!
I think the biggest wheel you can run safely is a 17X8 wheels
without having any problems. Also I wouldn't get a bigger tire
than a 245/45/17 or 245/50/17.You should get some Nitto 555's
they make great tires!

I am running 17x8(245/45/17) in the front and 17x9(275/40/17) in the rear and I have EIBACH Pro springs and I don't have any rubbing in front, but the rear tires rub the Quad shocks and the Stainless pipes on my 92 LX under heavy cornering.

I'm running 235 60 15s on the front and 255 60 15s on the back and have InTrax 2" drops, no rubbing.

a panhard rod isn't going to stop my tires from rubbing.

You said they rub under heaving cornering, that's because the axle is moving to the side. A panhard bar would stop lateral motion.

It rubs on the very inside of the tires and it is due to the sidewalls flexing and rubbing the exhaust. When the car is sitting still there is only 3/8 of an inch between the tire and the exhaust.
