Default fuel pump

Here's the problem. I went to start my car the other morning (1991 5.0 lx) and it would turn but not catch, so i narrowed it down to the fuel pump not cutting in. i tried a new relay, checked all the wiring, i have power going to the pump when i turn the key ahead , but as soon as the relay clicks, i lose power to the pump , also i was wondering if there are any alternate fuel pumps that could be used cause i have a pump from a taurus that looks the same and has a rate of 30 litres per hour , but i'm not sure of the flow rate for a stock pump in a mustang.

I don't think the Taurus pump will work as the stock is rated at 88 lph. Here's where I got my pump:http://www.jdsperformance.com/index.asp

Default Fuel pump...

Yea I would venture to guess it would not cut it. However, I just upgraded my entire fuel system, and I have a stock one left over I believe, should you want it let me know. It is in perfect working order. Let me know, my email is lordlala@comcast.net.

To my suprise the taurus pump actually did work. I had the tank out and just tried it for badness and it worked fine - not starving for fuel or low idle or hesitation and cost $0, but thanks for the input and opinions guys.
