Default new block or not

I am going to be getting TFS TW heads and stage 1 cam in about 2 weeks. Someone told me that me car won't be that powerful because I will be using the stock bottom end. Is this true or not?

unless you have no compression, false.. you will make more power. To get the most out of the combo, get the trickflow intake as well, but you can save up for that if you want.. but with that set you will def make more hp.

He's already got the TFS street intake The car will be A LOT quicker. I've got the same setup, except with the track heat.

To the tune of about 320 to 340hp fast. As said before, unless your engine is extremely high in milage and compression is low you should make these figures in power at the flywheel with your particular set-up.

I agree with what everyone above said. I have TFS heads and the TFS Stage 1 cam in my car with the stock bottom end and it has plenty of power. Don't worry about the stock bottom end too much. Just put the parts on and have fun.

run synthetic oil, mobil one is very good. that will take care of your shortblock if your compression is good still, which it probably is unless you overheated it and scored the cylinders(S). stock shortblock can handle up to 400 hp but is not recomneded over 350. so basically your good, nice setup!
