Default Need muffler / header advice for my '94 GT

To the guys at V8mustangs.com

First, thanks for creating such a great page for Mustang owners. I need to replace my muffler on my '94 GT and while I'm at it want to install new headers too.

My priorities are this:
1. maximum reliability regarding fit, function, and zero problems with clearance (I have Eibach Pro Kit springs that have reduced clearance by about 1 inch.)
2. better sound than stock but not too loud.
3. increased performance.
4. fair price.

I am looking for a trustworthy shop to order and install the muffler and headers. I live in the west Los Angeles area, off Wilshire Boulevard. Any assistance or advice that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg Porter

Default Headers Mufflers

One of my customers has a 94 dropped Stang,
We put Svo headers and a Mac 2 1/2" exhaust with 3 chamber Flowmasters.
Its got a real nice rumble not too noisy but more dbs than stock, perf is exellent.
Oh he has a t trim Vortec blower with a custom grind cam with a crazy idle which makes the exhaust sound real crisp!!!

Default Re: Headers Mufflers

I also reccomend Flowmaster and Mac exhaust. I have an 85 LX with 2 chamber flowmaster cat-back kit, and the car also has Eibach Pro-Kit springs, myself and my father installed the exhaust in our driveway with minimal problems. This car a little loud, but there are quieter mufflers out there. If you want to run Flowmasters, then go with the 3 chambers, they are a little more mellow sounding than the 2 chambers, and I would go with the cat-back kit, includes tail pipes, mufflers, and flow tubes for about 250 bucks, and it will give you some higher rpm power.

If you have the funds, I also reccomend Magnaflow exhaust, their system sounds close to stock, but deeper and a little louder.
