i fixed the whistle i bought an accufab. and also i cut the post in the mass air out, except for where the sensor wires hang in there so now its wide open and no whistle.
nevermind it still whistles on acceleration. i talked to guy at accufab and he said its not the throttle body thats making the noise. why doesnt stock ones whistle there made the same way. if anybody else has any other ideas please respond thanks
Welllllll, ain't ya'll gonna welcome me to the club?!! I put my Cobra MAF on tonight, and it whistles pretty loud. It did it some, with the Exploder intake and 70mm TB & spacer, and stock MAF. But now, it's alot louder.
I can live with it - for a while.

I also have a Pro Products upper & lower, egr & tb.I have the whistle but my tb is smooth. I first noticed it after I changed my mass air sensor & left the air filter off to clean it,it was real bad. After i put the air filter back on it helped alot but it can still be heard once in a while.
Any 1 know if the maf has anything to do with it & has any 1 heard about clocking their maf?
I have a BBK 70 and have never had a bit of noise.
I've also done the clocking the MAS too. What you're doing is putting the sensor wire in the actual air path inside the inlet tube for a more accurate reading. Turning it while it's running will change the tone of the engine and turning the top towards the engine will speed it up, towards the fender slows it down. I'm not sure if this actually makes a difference, it didn't on mine.

Put on a trickflow upper and lower with PP TB and egr. I was so angry after the swap i didnt drive it. I searched and people told me to smooth it out and it didnt work. So i called T.F. and they told me iwas deff. my TB. I removed it and looked, and looked. finally i came up with if you put youre IAC gasket over the TB. There is a HUGE mismatch on the gasket to the TB. There is so much metal in the way, its almost mismatched by a 1/2 inch. So what i did was use a deburring bit and removed all that extra metal. Then used a dremel and smoothed it all out. Noise went away and idles find. No need for extra parts. I just used a little common sensce. Im a tech too. So i look for stupid little things.
if your t/b is larger than the air intake port on the plenum this will make a loud noise like a whistle the round outer edge of the plenum must be ground down and the noise should stop i had the same problem with an accufab t/b. so if your useing a 70 mm or larger t/b on an intake plenum thats opening is only 65 mm the air is meeting resistance at the plenum your t/b moveing more air than the plenum opening can an its causeing the roaring or whistling.
Thanks GhostDog. I just finished installing a Trick Flow upper end kit with the BBK 70MM TB and man - what a whistle. That along with the thing wont quite idle yet is driving me crazy.
I have my dremmel ready to go and will start the process. I;ll let everyone know how it goes.

I to have this same whine, not that bad but noticable. Also my engine surges at idle sometimes and when I turn on my a/c it will surge once or twice and then kill. WTF!!!!!!!! Does anybody have an idea? TPS is at .97 . Other than that car runs awesome, THANKS>
and here's another reason why BBK suxs. Someone should send this link to their sales department so they understand whats happening with their products.
I also hear the headers are prone to cracking on the welds.
I pulled my BBK 75MM TB off and went to work on it with the Dremmel - and it worked GREAT! No more whine at all.
