Has anyone done a Cobra Grille Insert?

Hey! Nice to see a Canadian, and western to boot, Forum!

I am thinking of doing a Cobra Grille insert on my '89 GT. Just wondering if anyone has done this? Is it hard, worth it, or anything I should know?

theres one done on my 88LX seems to be pretty straight forward with how it goes on there . i could try and get some pics if u need them........................<-----also canadian <----also a newfie

I installed one on my 87 GT last weekend and was suprised how easy it was. Mine came with a templete and stainless mounting screws. I traced the area to cut with the provided templete and cut it out with a jigsaw. (have a couple of spare blades) You will need to trim the opening with a utility knife for fit and be sure to put some masking tape around the cut area before you start or you may scratch the bumper with the saw. After I installed the insert it was like night and day! Looks great, I would recommend installing the grille.

I did it to an LX front end on my Gt. (it has a Saleen lower lip) and it was super easy. one word of caution, don't use that 3M tape alone. Use some screw from the top, under the hood. People will jack that grill ASAP!
