Hey guys,
You can see my sig, and you see what I have, and im running about 10.6:1 compression, and guessing ~310 at the wheels, im not sure honestly.
Would getting nitrous for the occasional cruise and trailer video making day with friends be worth it?
If so, how big of a shot? Central Coast Mustang, when they were open, said the motor could handle a 125 shot.
What would be better, wet or dry? Which could I likely install myself, without issues? I would obivously get it tuned before running it.
What would be good for me, and what could i run without running into problems of killing my motor any time soon? I was thinking about a 50-75 shot ... but some ppl around here tell me to get a 125.
I would hardly use it, it would be an every-so-often thing, and sometimes at the track. I have a chip with 4 slots for tunes, so I could set 3 for NA tunes, and 1 for the Nitrous tune.

i've been thinking about getting nitrous for my D.D. eventually. I was looking at the nitrous express Ford EFI kit. Its a wet kit and goes up to about a 150 shot i think. Its easy to install and according to the ad requires no timing retards and can work on stock fuel system. I've never actually seen the kit on a mustang though so i dont know how it would work. Good Luck!
I have a 89 gt with the nitrous express wet kit. I have a 308 with 10.5 compression and i run a 100 shot with no problems. You could run 50-100 if you wanted to.Nitrous express is a great kit and easy to install.I would get the wet kit.
Well i spray at the track and some times on street.Ive man about 20 pass at the track with 50-100 shot.I never been on a dyno so that i dont know but the good thing is i run 12.50s all day long with a 100 shot and thats with stock heads, injecters, maf, and intake.I am happy to say nothing has broke yet.Just make sure if you get nitrous get a bottle warmer.
ok well this is what Summit Racing and Ford Racing said to me when I called and asked:
First: Dry kits may need you to upgrade ur injectors; however, wet kits add fuel pressure, and thus there is no need to upgrade injectors
Second: Nitrous doesnt blow up motors, users blow up motors. Meaning, if you dont have the right kit, or gauges (and bottle heaters), and you dont keep track of you motor (ie check plugs every so ofter w/o nitrous, then with a smaller shot, then step it up, etc), then you can hurt the motor.
Third, for every 50 shot, timing needs to be retarded 2*
Fourth, dont hit the rev limiter with the nitrous or else the computer will cut the fuel, and that can cause serious problems.
Basically, they said they all use it all the time, and it costs $3.10 per pound to fill, and that as long as i monitor what is going on, i will have no problems. They said nitrous is just compressed air, so you are throwing air into the motor (like a turbo / SC), and the same risks are involved.

the problem is i have the elbow that is 70mm, and the tb is 70mm, and then opening on the crappy manifold is 70mm. i can mark and dremel the upper manifold bigger, but i dont know what i can do about the elbow, and i guess i could do the TB, but id have to do the other 2 first

well, im scraping the nitrous plan, i dynod 396.7/460 at the wheels today, on a bad tune with a 30:1 Air fuel ratio *DOH!* so i think i will be looking into just the intake, TB, and maybe a new MAF now ...
