What type of oil do you use in your mustang?
What viscosity do you use? What kind of mustand do you drive? What kinds you have used in past and dont recommend/heard not to use?
I have been using Delo 400 15w40 in my 89' for most of the time that I have owned it (3 years or so) and it has worked fine for me. But I guess the 'right' oil depends on sevaral factors like time of year, engine wear, etc...
One thing that i know is that if your engine is new enough you can run a synthetic which is generally better but it tends to "find" leaks on older engines.
...dont know if this is the kind of info you are looking for...

I just started running on synthetic, valvoline 10w-40, your car will be fine running on synthetic. as long as you flush it before changing it. It runs a little bit smoother than regular oil IMO, and you wont have to change it as much as you do normal oil.

Haha. This last time I did an oil change, I used Penzoil 5w30. Up here in the Colorado Mountains, it's usually better to run with less weight do to the elevation.
I've, honestly, never noticed a difference. I've used Quaker State: High Mileage, Quaker State: High Horsepower (Both Synthetics), Penzoil, and Castrol.
Isn't the theory true, though, when I say "Oil, is oil, is oil" If it lubricates your engine and keeps the internals from frying, it's doing it's job right? It shouldn't be a major issue, in my mind, as long as you are changing out your oil every 3000 miles.
Synthetic may save your internals a little but, it's still oil.
i concur. i used to oppose this theory, thinking that the more i pay for my oil, the better it will do its job. my dad was a mechanic for a long time, and knows his stuff, and would always tell: oil is oil, just make sure you change it every 3k. and he is right. ive used 5 dollar a quart oil, and 79 cents a quart oil. and it all ran the same, and all was the same color when it came out. i usually try to stay away from pennzoil though, i have heard bad things about oils that contain parafin (wax)

i normally use 4 and a half quarts of 10w-40, and one bottle of Lucas oil stabalizer. give the stuff a try, but the natural stabalizer, not the synthetic stuff. the synthetic stablizer is like water... the natural stuff is like grape jelly! prevents dry starts by keep the oil on vital internal parts. i swear by lucas additives, i use them on a monthly basis.

yeah, i have had blow by in one of my drivers side pistons. (3rd in) you could see smoke when stomping it. but ever since ive been using valvoline max life 10w40 and a quart of lucas........nothing. i can run it to 5500 rpm's and still not see any smoke. havent ran it to red line tho.....i dont feel comfortable redlining my cars..... but i also swear by lucas, and max life in my case
