First off, if you want drivability and durability, stay away from a 347. They don't last long. A 331 or 308 would do well for a street car. Sounds like you've got a decent grasp on the overall picture. Cam grinds, head porting and the right intake and different things like that are where the real power is made. Check out the 5.0L specific forum on this site. There's a wealth of knowledge there to be had. All you gotta do is search for the answer and if it hasn't been given already, then ask away.

go with a k&n air filter or cold air induction system...better cam or heads...good exhaust system....also you have to remember that lightening up the car will help as it won't take more energy to get the car rolling

Upgrade!

Intake, Heads, Cam, Injectors, Headers, Exhaust System.

Porting is really, really good if you can get it done right, that's my next step: Porting my Upper and Lower Intake and my Heads... can't afford to Bore and Increase the Stroke on my Engine (yet).

But, as BlueStreak said, you've got it all covered: you know what to do.

As far as the best bang for you buck? I'm not sure, just keep your eyes open and decide what you want. Information is a plenty on the Internet: anything your looking for you can find. And that's an Al Gore Guarantee!
