If the car is an auto and you really like an auto, I would go with the Art Carr aod. It will really beef things up and still keep the driveability of an auto.

I personally like a manual transmission more than an auto but you may come out ahead if you already have an automatic setup.

thanks for the input ghost

i am going to be debating this one for a while. when i decided to do the tranny (and crate motor) the car will no longer be my daily driver, so im not as concerned with driveability issues... im just unsure if i want to go through all the hassle of the swap... i dont reall want to buy another car just for the 5speed setup. it will probably come down to what i can find, because i am having a difficult time locating artcarrs at reasonable prices as of late...

AVOID ART CARR!!!

There customer service in non-existant, and they put out over-priced crap. I have a 4,000 trans that is a pile of junk because of the manufacture defects(cracked transbrake valve body).

Here is another guy.

Rip-off Report: Art Carr Of California Performance Transmissions Art Carr the man from the T.V. Show Overhaulin, and California Performance Transmissions Huntington Beach California

I have an Art Carr trans and it's lived many years and through a lot of abuse but I did get it before the ownership change.
