i was looking to buy a cam for my 89 lx and was wondering what size lift to go with.someone told me that it is best to get the intake and exhaust lift the same.i've seen many cams like this and i have also seen them with other variouse combinations.what is the difference??what is best for a stock setup.i want to do a lot to the car and probably will soon. i was thinking about going with the torker 2 cam kit from edellbrock because it comes with lifters and stuff and doesent cost a whole lot. and what is the biggest lift i can put into a stock 89 with out having to worry about anything going wrong?thanks for any help

I have a FRPP F303 cam in my 89 LX and I love it. The idle is "fair" as it says on the site, but if you plan on doing "a lot" with the car, then I guess it might not matter that much to you (it doesn't matter to me, plus I love the sound of a cammed V8). Also, if you're going S/C or turbo down the road, it would be wise to get a cam that is compatible with such power adders. I really don't know much about other cams/kits out there though.

ok well i found one that i will like but i would like to know FOR SURE IF IT WILL WORK. it is a comp cams magnum hydraulic street/strip cam kit. valve lift is int- .512 / exh- .512 and like i said i have a compleatly stock 89 5.0. i called summit tech support and he said yes it will fit...but for me to double check it with some clay after i got the cam...well the whole point of me calling them was to make sure it fit BEFORE I GOT IT. o well go figure. the part number for the kit is cca-cl31-226-3 and it is a summit part number. thanks for any help with this. or just tell me what is the biggest cam i can put in the car being stock.
