the 5 lug conversion was done wen i got my car. the front you have to buy new rotors. you can get them pretty cheap at like advanced auto parts. for the back axles i think you can use the driver side axle of a ford ranger. i am not 100% positive. but i know it is either 2 driverside axles or passenger axles of a cartain car. right now i cant think of it. for the back drums if you wanted to save a coupple of bucks you can drill your own holes in the drum. or if you done have the proper tools you could always take it to a machine shop so it is done perfect. here is a sight where you can buy the complete kit... http://www.blueovalindustries.com/pr...ealer=blueoval
that site has a brand new kit for $300. good luck

Do you want the rear to be rear drums still.....you will have to change out the axle splines...normally on stock app you have the 28 spline, will need to upgrade to a 31 spline application and also change out the differential if you are going to upgrade your rear gears....I am doing that on my 89 GT...my car had the four lug 2.73 diff trak lock which I am changing out and swapping in the 3.55 gears....I also ditched the rear drums and will be going front/rear disc all around....there are articles that you can use off of yahoo.com that show you the cheap/expensive way to do it...that is where I got my information

yes i would like to go to disc brakes in the back also. i read a lot of the articles on yahoo.com and they were very helpful but im still not sure what is the best way to go cuz a lot of them said you will have problems with fitting wheels and sometimes the wheels will fit but center caps wont. . im thinking of jus using sn94-95 spindles in front with lsc 7 rotors and swaping out my axle for a whole assembled mark 7 with rear disc. sounds like the best way to go right?

i think the best way to go as far as whole axle assemblies would be a 94-95 rear end. they are the closest to the same set up and even have the same hardline running across the length of the axle. as far as doing the carrier and spider gears you dont need to do that, if you really want disc brakes in the back, you can get 94-95 axles and all the disc brake components, and the axles will work with your existing differential. or if you just want the drums, get two driver side axles from a first gen ranger 83-88, or two passenger side axles from an aerostar. while you are there you might as well grab the drums off the truck you get the axles from. make sure both axles are from cars with 9 inch drums not 10 inchers.

This is another one out there, I'm going to do this exact upgrade on my car.

You have to figure that brakes made in later years are going to be better, especially a dual caliper.

Again, do what you please, but I hope this helps.

Simply swapping out the rear axle for a sn95 rear will end up with the wheels sticking out 3/4" on each side. They are wider.

Simply using the ranger rear axles, which are 28 spline, and the drums will be a cheap and easy swap. Use the shorter of the two lengths, whichever side that is.

If you just change rotors on your spindles, the hub hat will not allow the newer mustang center caps to clear. You must swap front spindle assemblys, which is basically a bolt on, needing two spacers for the lower castle nuts, an adapter for one brake hose fitting, and an alignment. This will make it possible to upgrade to the better cobra brakes in the future.

I have upgraded to the 2004 cobra front and rear disc brakes, 11 3/4" rears and 13" fronts, and still retain the original offset.

I bought a Currie 9 inch with 5 lug custom made for Fox Mustangs. Then I got the Cobra disc brake kit made by Ford Racing. Seems a pretty straight forward way to do it.

yes it will bolt up.......

but 94 rear is wider than the fox so there may be a tire rubbing issue.....

You do realize that the M-2300-K kit consists of factory 94-95 mustang parts right?

which has absolutely nothing to do with the fact the sn95 axles are wider the fox body stock axles....
so the concern for tire rub would still be there....

i would appreciate some clarity on your comment....

I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that the M-2300-K kit is designed to bolt on 87-93 years of 5.0L cars for the conversion. and has all of the parts necessary for the conversion. The kit casts $2500. The M-1126-A is the Ford Racing 5 lug drum and axle kit for Fox Mustangs and lists for $468. Late Model Restorations has a 5 lug conversion kit for around $400 using the rear drum brakes. It is a complete kit. It doesn't get much easier or cheaper than that.
